Macro Integration Services successfully completed three separate projects with BI-LO Holdings (banners include Winn-Dixie, BI-LO, and Harvey's) that helped change the look and customer experience at 160 separate stores.
Self Check-Out (SCO) De-installation
Macro de-installed NCR self-checkout equipment in 127 BI-LO stores in the southeast from mid - October through mid-December, at a rate of 16 stores per week. This included removal of the SCO's, terminating the power, re-tiling the floor, replacing wire molding, and CAT 5 pulls. This was a complex project that required numerous skill from different types of professionals. Of course, the work had to be done correctly, thoroughly, and quickly. It also had practical and potentially costly consequences for BI-LO if it was not completed on time and on budget.
Macro serviced 166 stores in the southeast in a 2-month period (21 per week), by installing from 1 to 4 "telepoles" per location. These poles carry wiring and telecommunications cable inside the store between the floor and the ceiling. This work at all locations included safety checks, Cat 5 pulls, disconnecting and reconnecting power and adding new circuits. Macro finished this project on schedule and on budget.
A complete job done well is the hope of every project manager. Macro turned hope to reality for BI-LO at 160 stores in just 8 weeks (20 stores per week). Macro de-installed, tracked, shipped and de-commissioned IBM POS equipment and payment processing terminals in in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
BI-LO Holdings is now a part of Southeastern Grocers that includes the Winn-Dixie banner of stores. They remain a valued customer of Macro today.
